HDMI

HDMI, also known as high-definition multimedia, is an all-digital video and sound transmission interface that can transmit uncompressed audio and video signals. HDMI can be used for set-top boxes, DVD players, personal computers, TV games, integrated amplifiers, digital audio and TVs.

HDMI interface can send audio and video signals at the same time. Since the audio and video signals use the same wire, the installation difficulty of the system line is greatly simplified.

Product Description

function:

High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is a digital video/audio interface technology. It is a special digital interface suitable for image transmission. It can transmit audio and image signals at the same time. The maximum data transfer speed is 2.25 Gb/s. At the same time, it does not require D / A or a / D conversion before signal transmission.

HDMI can be used in conjunction with Broadband Digital Content Protection (HDCP) to prevent unauthorized copying of copyrighted audiovisual content.

HDMI can be used for future upgraded audio and video formats.

Compared with the existing composite, S-video, component video and other analog video interface, HDMI has the following advantages:

1. Quality: HDMI is the digital interface that provides the best video quality, because when converting from analog to digital, all analog connections (such as component video or S-video) do not need to be lost. This difference is especially noticeable at higher resolutions (e. g. 1080p). Digital video will be sharper than component video, eliminating softness and smearing in component video. Tiny, high-contrast details, such as text, take this difference to the extreme.

2. Ease of use: HDMI integrates video and multi-channel audio in a single cable, thereby eliminating the cost, complexity and confusion of the multi-cables used in current A/V systems. This is especially useful when upgrading or adding devices.

3. High intelligence: HDMI supports two-way communication between video sources (such as DVD players) and DTV, and realizes new functions such as automatic configuration and one-key playback. By using HDMI, the device automatically transmits the most efficient format for the connected display (e. g., 480p vs 720p,16:9 vs 4:3)? eliminating the need for consumers to scroll through all format options to guess the best viewing format.

4. HD content ready: HDCP-enabled HDMI devices can access premium HD content, which gives me some comfort. Hd-dvd and Blu ray delayed the activation of the image resist mark (also known as the content protection mark) for today's high-definition movies to help minimize potential problems due to conversion, but the activation of the mark is expected within a few years, meaning that future high-definition movies will not be able to play in high definition over unprotected interfaces (such as analog components).
